They shop in Ottawa. They&#8217;re Ottawa residents. That means that the thousands of dollars that are spent here every day, stays here. It doesn&#8217;t go to the Loblaws headquarters in Toronto, or anything like that. It doesn&#8217;t go abroad. Besides farmers markets, they also do home deliveries and have piloted an online farmers market during the pandemic years to get around the closure of public spaces, an idea which has stuck and is still used to sell product.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-951e628 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"951e628\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a7bb2b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3a7bb2b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Heath also believes that Field Trip provides an important role in Ottawa\u2019s food security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important to have availability of high quality, nutritious food that&#8217;s been produced close to home, so it hasn&#8217;t lost all of its nutrients by the time you get it,\u201d Heath said.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-610f058 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"610f058\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u201cIt keeps in people&#8217;s fridges because it&#8217;s harvested only a few days before they get it. I mean, obviously not, at this time of year, when everything&#8217;s coming out of cold storage.
